A recipe is a set of instructions for preparing a food item. Once you define a recipe for a particular item, it will help you determine your cost of goods and profitability.
To add a recipe:
Step 1: Visit Setup > Inventory Setup > Recipes.
Step 2: Search for the menu item you want to create a recipe for using the search field.
Step 3: Now type in the first ingredient in the search field and hit enter. Enter the quantity of that ingredient used in the recipe.
Step 4: Repeat Step 3 for all ingredients used in this recipe.
Step 5: Enter the recipe preparation method and critical information in the field below.
Step 6: Click on the Track Consumption checkbox.
Step 7: Click Save.
